Why Hire a Professional?
Why hire a professional?
A big advantage of hiring landscape architects is that they‘re trained to think about landscapes as systems.
Landscape architects will increase the value of your home. Hiring a landscape architect is one of the best investments for your home, adding as much as 15 percent to its value over comparable houses. This will add value and extend your living space while allowing you to enjoy all that nature has to offer.
They will assess your property‘s problem areas and possibilities and create a solid plan that addresses both the big picture and exact details of how your landscape will look. What a homeowner may consider a long weekend project might actually take weeks. Your landscape architect will remain involved with the construction and follow through.
Landscape architects design low-maintenance gardens featuring beautiful native plants. They know where to place trees to lower energy bills by reducing heating and cooling costs. They can devise the perfect drip irrigation system to avoid costly mistakes such as extra dollars on a monthly water bill or killing all of your new plants it was meant to be helping.

Canopy Gardens
10404 N. 204th St. • Elkhorn, NE 68022 • canopygardensinc.com • (402) 980-7509
Young, innovative, edgy, and creative combined with determination, experience, knowledge, and a love of horticulture.
Canopy Gardens was developed by two young men with a passion and connection to the outdoors. Nicholas Irwin and Mercer Gunnels have each received a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Horticulture with an emphasis in landscape design from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Ultimately, the business has drawn like-minded individuals with similar passions and interests. Their team works efficiently and effectively from the massing of a single species to create a flowing ambiance of plant material to a stacked random pattern natural stone wall. Whether your property requires planting beds, patios, paths, stairs, walls, water features, lighting, or furniture, their design team can help bring life to an otherwise static landscape. These designs will enhance the architecture of your home or business, existing plant materials, and surroundings, furthermore, creating an outdoor space in which our clients can relax, enjoy and live.
Canopy Gardens is a contemporary landscape design, build, and maintenance firm that prides themselves on working with nature, not against it, with a mission to create unique outdoor spaces that encourage interaction and enhance architecture.
In collaboration with each client’s ideas and lifestyle, along with the use of global design trends, horticultural knowledge, and attention to detail, what originated as imagination, transcends into a unique outdoor space.
