Here to Help: Omaha Healthcare

Omaha is home to some of the leading healthcare systems in the country. With three main options (CHI, Methodist, and Nebraska Medicine) you have choices when it comes to choosing your care. Here are the major healthcare systems in Omaha, with a few of the smaller or area-specific clinics listed below.

Please note, this blog is for educational purposes only and is not intended as giving any medical advice.

CHI Health

With four major hospitals and dozens of clinic offices around the Metro, CHI Health is a popular choice for families receiving healthcare. From neurology, orthopedics, behavioral health and maternity care, CHI covers a wide spectrum of services for all stages of life. Their offices are conveniently located all across town - from Lakeside in West Omaha to Midlands in Papillion; CHI is there for their community.

According to their website CHI values include, “A healthier future for all—inspired by faith, driven by innovation, and powered by our humanity.”

Methodist Hospital

With two locations - 83rd and Dodge and the Women’s Hospital in West Omaha, Methodist Hospital has been an Omaha community healthcare option for a long time. Similar to the other options, Methodist has many clinic offices around town.

According to their website: “With more than 2,000 full-time employees and over 400 physicians on active staff, Methodist Hospital has a tradition of providing quality health care to the region in cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, cancer care, gastroenterology, orthopedics, and comprehensive diagnostic services. Founded in 1891 by members of the Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebraska Methodist Hospital, is a not-for-profit, 423-bed acute care hospital serving the metropolitan-Omaha area.”

Nebraska Medicine

The Nebraska Medical Center has seen its share of growth, change, and expansion over the past decade. With the newest Buffet Cancer Center, Nebraska Medicine is a hospital people come to from all over the region. Nebraska Medicine is also home to the Munroe Meyer Institute, a speciality research center helping youth and families with developmental disabilities.

According to their website, “Our health network covers metro Omaha and extends across the region providing you access to more than 1,400 doctors and nearly 70 specialty and primary care health centers to help keep you healthy. Our two hospitals, Nebraska Medical Center and Bellevue Medical Center have more than 800 licensed beds to deliver our promise of “Serious Medicine, Extraordinary Care.” Our more than 9,000 employees are honored to be part of the region’s leading academic health network.”
